FACIAL SKIN TYPES
⠀
Every skin type is "normal"
Skin type is influenced by genetics and cannot be changed by cosmetics.
It can change with age, under the influence of certain medications, hormones, and in other cases, the list of which is limited.
Choose care for all skin types or according to your predominant feature.
If you are more prone to dryness, choose for dry skin, and if you have oily skin, choose for oily skin.
Try combinations of products for different skin types to find the most effective care.
How to determine your skin type
Normal skin type
"Normal skin" is a commonly used term for well-balanced skin. The scientific term for healthy skin is eudermic. The T-zone (forehead, chin and nose) may be slightly oily, but overall sebum and moisture production is balanced and the skin is neither too oily nor too dry.
Combination skin type
Combined (mixed) is a rather specific skin type that has the characteristics of both dry and oily skin and sometimes even problem skin.
As a rule, combined skin is a more oily T-zone and normal/dry periphery of the face. Today, combined skin type is the most common skin type in the world.
Dry skin type
The word "dry" is used to describe a skin type that produces less sebum than normal skin.
Due to the lack of sebum, dry skin lacks the lipids it needs to retain moisture and form a protective barrier against external influences.
Dry skin affects significantly more women than men, and with age, any skin becomes drier.
Oily skin type
The word "oily" is used to describe a skin type with increased sebum production.
Oily skin is characterized by: enlarged, clearly visible pores; oily sheen; thickened, pale skin: blood vessels may not be visible.
